Lawrence H. “Larry” Mitchell, age 92, of Blossburg, PA, died on Sunday, October 1, 2023.  He was born on September 30, 1931 in Blossburg, PA a son of the late William and Stella (Novitski) Mitchell.  Larry was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Blossburg and retired as an assistant manager for Acme Markets, Wellsboro, PA with over 30 years of service.  He was a member of Knights of Columbus, 4th degree and Men of Malvern.  He loved dancing and polka music and enjoyed doing carpentry, hunting, gardening, working Bingo at the church and spending time with his family.  Larry is survived by six daughters: Joanne Krajek of Wellsboro, PA, Cindy Mitchell of Mansfield, PA, Chris Walls of Covington, PA, Julie Mitchell of Wellsboro, PA, Kate (Guyle) Aungst of Pine Grove, PA, Patti (Chuck) Coolidge of Wellsboro, PA, daughter-in-law: Sue Mitchell of Middlebury Center, PA, two brothers: Joseph (Ruth) Mitchell of NH, Bill (Joyce) Mitchell of AZ, two sisters: Evelyn Fredrick of Blossburg, PA, Rose (Bud) Bixby of NC, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was predeceased by a son: Larry J. Mitchell, daughter: Teri Mitchell, four brothers and 2 sisters.  A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 5 to 7 pm at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc. www.carletonfh.com Wellsboro, PA.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 3:00 pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Blossburg, PA with Rev. Bryan B. Wright officiating.  Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Morris Run, PA.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the Texas Children’s Hospital.
