Deborah Schimpf

Deborah Anne (Lukens) Schimpf passed away on September 5, 2023, in Troy, Pennsylvania, at the age of 76.  She was born on October 13, 1946, in Philadelphia, PA, and was raised in Meadowbrook, Pennsylvania, by her parents Robert and Dorothy (Green) Lukens, along with her younger sister Margaret. She graduated from Abington High School and Geneva College. She was married to the late W. Scott Schimpf, for 43 years, living in Blue Bell, Harleysville, and Morris, Pennsylvania.  Deborah helped her husband start his business, Guardian Fire Equipment and held several positions at the former US Healthcare (now Aetna Insurance).  She was a member of Gwynedd Chapter, DAR, and Cornerstone Church of Skippack in Skippack, PA.   She loved doing crafts and spending time with her family.  Deborah is survived by her son David (Jaclyn) Schimpf of Blue Bell, PA, daughter Amy (Aaron) Woodbury of Blossburg, PA, sister Margaret (Wayne) Kachelriess of Charlotte, NC, grandchildren Margaret Wolff and Nicoleana Woodbury of Blossburg, PA, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will hold a private graveside service at the Oregon Hill Cemetery, Morris, PA.  Since her loved ones live wide and far, we ask that those wanting to celebrate her life do so in a way meaningful for them.  Spend the day playing with their kids, grandkids, or pets, listen to music that makes them happy, color, watch a Christmas movie or just laugh…all the things she loved to do.

The family kindly requests that donations be made in Deborah’s memory to Kentucky Mountain Mission, 150 Youth Haven Rd, Beattyville, KY 41311.  https://www.kmminc.org

Deborah Schimpf will be remembered by her family and friends with great love and affection.  We pray that her memory lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc. www.carletonfh.com Wellsboro, PA.
