Lewis M. Applebee, age 78, of Middlebury Center, PA, died on Wednesday, April 1, 2020.  He was born on March 24, 1942 in Wellsboro, PA, a son of the late Merle “Pete” and Julia E. (VanOrder) Applebee.  Lewis was retired from Corning Glass Works, Corning, NY and from Dietrich’s Milk Products, Middlebury Center, PA.  He was an avid outdoorsman and passed on his love of hunting and fishing to his children.  Lewis is survived by three sons: Mike (Christine) Applebee, Gale (Missie) Applebee, Brett (Michele) Applebee, five daughters: Wanita Applebee, Wanda Coolidge, Mylea Mathews, Carolyn (Wayne) Baxter, Christine Deihl, two sisters: Katherine (Laverne) Holliday, Donna Perkins, special granddaughter: Tiffany Applebee, 21 additional grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by a brother: Jack Dean Applebee and a sister: Ruth Applebee Johnson.  Funeral services will be private and are under the direction of Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., www.carletonfh.com Wellsboro, PA.  Interment will be in the Middlebury Union Cemetery, Middlebury Center, PA.
